Creating Positive Change in Couple & Family Relationships

Marital/Couples Therapy

Marital therapy is about change, in a supportive environment with a therapist committed to helping you improve your marriage. That means that I am not neutral. I won’t tell you what to do, but I won’t give up on your marriage either. I take the stance that nearly all marriages are worth saving, and I am committed to helping couples make changes that will improve their relationship. Almost all relationships can change, even when problems seem too difficult to overcome, when trust has been broken, or connection seems lost. What difficulties are you facing in your marriage? What would you like to be different?

Currently, the majority of my work is in marital therapy (approximately 60%-70% of my clients). My approach is collaborative, supportive, practical, and focused on helping you reach your goals. Fault finding or blaming is not necessary and is often counter-productive. We’ll work to improve communication, increase understanding and support, establish trust and safety, and build positive moments of relating that strengthen your marriage. I focus on strengths, rather than emphasizing weaknesses. You’ll find that I am supportive and easy to talk with, and that therapy will be thought-provoking, enjoyable, stimulating, and, at times, challenging.

How long will therapy last? I can’t give a specific time frame for your situation, but most clients meet with me for approximately 6-12 sessions. If your spouse is hesitant to come, give me a call anyway.

If you are experiencing difficulties and would like to schedule a FREE consult to see how marital/couples therapy can be helpful for your situation, call (919) 696-6834 or email krepps@carolinaperformance.net to schedule an appointment. The free initial consult is designed to assess the difficulties you’re experiencing, give us an opportunity to meet, and discuss how therapy can help you make the changes you want to make.

I’ve been helping couples improve their relationships and lives for more than 14 years. My degrees are in psychology and marriage and family therapy, and I have been trained in multiple approaches to marital/couples therapy and family therapy. I’ve trained and supervised marriage & family therapists and psychiatric residents, and, in addition to providing marital therapy, I offer marital education groups and workshops, as well as educational workshops addressing family and parent-child relationships.

In addition to marital therapy, I also work with couples making the transition to parenthood, parents and children experiencing relationship difficulties, families struggling to find balance in their day-to-day family, work, and school lives, and parents seeking to enhance their parenting skills and build confidence in their parenting role.

I offer a FREE initial consultation to all new potential clients.

FREE child care is available during appointments scheduled between 9am and 1pm.
